Would you like to work amongst the action at Newbury Racecourse? You could be a part of the exciting and enthusiastic team of individuals that are the driving force behind delivering exceptional horse racing events.
Roles Available:
- Restaurant Waiting - Serving canapes and a glass of champagne to guest, taking food orders, menu knowledge and understanding the requirements for a smooth order of service
- Bartenders - Knowledge of wine and spirits and a pro active work ethic
- Box Waiter - Working independently with your own initiative looking after a small number of guests, knowledge of wine and spirits, dealing with high end clients and menu knowledge
- Food Runner/Drinks Runner - Taking food and drinks to tables with instructions from management from the bar and the kitchen
Working in one of these customer-facing roles, you will be involved in the delivery and sales of our delicious range of food and drink to our racecourse guests, balancing efficiency with product knowledge and ensuring customers are greeted with a smile.
You will be working effectively alongside chefs, managers, and other employees of Newbury Racecourse to ensure a smooth delivery of service, to our guests.

Responsibilities:
- Serving food and beverage requests efficiently and accurately
- Taking food orders
- Communicating with colleagues and taking direction to ensure smooth delivery
- Maintaining a clean and tidy dining and working environment before, after and during service
- Develop an understanding of the product range available (drinks items, dietary needs, menu knowledge)
- Managing and taking card payments
Requirements:
- Confidence and compassion when interacting with customers and colleagues
- Excellent teamworking skills
- Working in a fast paced environment
- A driven and dependable approach to work
- Attention to detail
- Upbeat, welcoming cheerful personality
- The ability to remain calm during high-volume periods
- CV required for application
- Living in the local area with accessibility to Newbury Racecourse via public transport or driving
- No previous experience necessary – full training provided
