We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen team at a prestigious hotel in the heart of Oxford. 🔧 Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire the kitchen brigade
  • Conduct regular team briefings, training sessions, and performance reviews
  • Ensure high morale and a positive working environment

Menu Development

  • Design and update seasonal menus with a focus on quality, sustainability, and profitability
  • Collaborate with suppliers to source the best ingredients
  • Ensure dietary needs and allergens are considered across all offerings

Operational Excellence

  • Maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation
  • Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations including service, prep, and mise en place
  • Work closely with front-of-house to ensure seamless service delivery

Cost Control & Stock Management

  • Monitor food cost, portion control, and wastage to achieve budget targets
  • Manage stock levels, ordering, and supplier relationships
  • Maintain up-to-date records for stock, deliveries, and health & safety compliance

Health, Safety & Hygiene

  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health & safety, and kitchen cleanliness standards
  • Maintain accurate documentation (HACCP, temperature checks, cleaning schedules)

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a quality kitchen
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Creative flair with a deep understanding of modern culinary trends
  • Excellent organisational and time-management abilities
  • Level 3 Food Hygiene certificate
  • Calm under pressure and adaptable to change
