🍽️ 180-Cover Restaurant
We are looking for an experienced Lead Hospitality Manager to take full responsibility for the operation of an 180-cover restaurant at Nottingham Racecourse on race days.
This is a senior hospitality management position, and the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the restaurant operation, managing the team and ensuring an exceptional guest experience throughout the event.
⭐ EXPERIENCE IS ESSENTIAL
Applicants must have previous hospitality management experience within a stadium, racecourse or similar large-scale event environment.
You must also have proven experience managing a large restaurant operation, including responsibility for teams, service standards and the overall guest experience.
This role is suited to an experienced hospitality manager who is confident taking full ownership of a restaurant operation on a busy race day.
You must be able to commit to ALL race day fixtures in 2026 and 2027 for Nottingham Racecourse.
🍽️ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take full responsibility for the overall operation of the 180-cover restaurant.
- Lead, manage and motivate the FOH hospitality team throughout the race day.
- Ensure the restaurant is fully prepared and ready before service begins.
- Conduct team briefings and allocate staff to ensure an efficient service.
- Oversee all aspects of restaurant service and maintain consistently high standards.
- Ensure guests receive an exceptional, professional and welcoming experience.
- Manage guest requests, queries and complaints confidently and professionally.
- Monitor service levels and respond quickly to any operational issues.
- Work closely with the kitchen and BOH team to ensure smooth and well-paced service.
- Liaise with racecourse and event management teams where required.
- Monitor staff performance and provide direction and support throughout the event.
- Ensure all health & safety, food safety and venue procedures are followed.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and professionalism.
- Manage the restaurant through busy periods while remaining calm and organised.
- Take responsibility for the restaurant from setup through to service and close-down.
- Complete post-event checks and ensure the restaurant is left to the required standard.
👔 SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
- Proven hospitality management experience – ESSENTIAL
- Previous stadium, racecourse or large-scale event hospitality experience – ESSENTIAL
- Previous experience managing a large restaurant – ESSENTIAL
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of restaurant operations and service standards.
- Experience managing high-volume hospitality services.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lead a large team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisation and attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Confident working independently and taking full responsibility for an operation.
